Summer Training 2009

June 26th - 28th

Camp will be led by our senior members of YKI.

During this 3-day seminar, participants will have the opportunity to practice fundamental skills and improve their knowledge of Yoshukai karate technique. Training sessions include group practice and one-on-one partnership drills designed to improve the student's understanding of bunkai (application of kata) and how it translates into kumite practice.

Kobudo sessions will also be offered for the following weapons : Nunchaku (green belts), Bo (brown belts) and Sai and Tonfa (black belts).

Dojos and individuals will have the opportunity to participate in a Saturday evening Demo competition.

 

Please join the Yoshukai Testing Board and your fellow YKI members for Camp 2009! This year's 3-day event will take place on the scenic campus of Saint Leo University. Camp is a great time to learn and train with old friends and make new acquaintances within the Yoshukai Karate International organization.

This year's location will provide:

  • Spacious, air-conditioned training gym
  • Easy access to lounge areas, campus restaurant and rooms during breaks
  • Day campers are welcome
  • Friday dinner through Sunday lunch is included for both day and overnight campers
  • Low cost items for lunch during check-in Friday. There are other restaurants close to the college as well.
  • Free parking
  • Family activity areas for overnight campers only (pool, game room)
  • Coin operated landry machines
  • Easy access via US-Highway 75 (1 hour to the Tampa Airport)
