Classes are held twice a week on Mondays and Wednesday starting at 8:00 PM and running until 9:00 PM for beginners and 9:30 PM for advanced students. Classes are for children (8 years and older) and adults.

We teach a traditional self-defense system based on Karate and Ju-Jitsu techniques that builds confidence, physical coordination and mental concentration. Classes are taught in a structured format with emphasis on precision and application of technique so students can progress in a safe yet challenging environment.

Our program is designed to give students a complete education in the art of self-defense through the application of traditional Karate and Ju-Jitsu techniques in a contemporary and energized setting. Classes are separated into two training agendas: core curriculum training to build muscle memory and skill development through practical application (e.g., drills, sparring and grappling.)

Our primary goal is help students reach their full potential as martial artists. To accomplish this, we use a combination of classical and modern training methods that are tailored to meet the needs of the individual student. Members start at the introductory level and learn basic techniques such as blocks, strikes, kicks, holds, releases, falls and throws. Once the student is proficient in these rudimentary skills, they are taught how to apply their knowledge in practical self-defense scenarios, sparring and grappling practice.

All classes are instructed by Mike Mendelson, a 6th degree black belt with over 30 years experience in the martial arts. Assistant to Mr. Mendelson is Donna Mendelson, a 4th degree black belt with over 20 years experience. Classes are conducted in a family friendly environment with emphasis on propriety and character development, as these virtues promote safe training.
